We want SRF to be accessible to everyone.
Scholarships are one way we make sure cost
isn't a barrier.
Timeline
- Priority deadline: January 19, 2026 (11:59 PM PT)
- Notifications sent by: February 2, 2026
Applications may be considered on a rolling basis after the deadline if funds remain.
Eligibility
Scholarships are intended for individuals who would not otherwise be able to afford to attend SRF. A portion of scholarships are reserved for attendees aged 25 and under.
- In-person scholarships are available only to people residing in the U.S.
- If you apply for an in-person scholarship and aren’t selected, you’ll automatically be considered for a virtual scholarship.
- Priority will be given to applicants attending SRF for the first time.
What scholarships may cover
Support may include:
- Registration (full or partial)
- Accessibility accommodations to ensure full participation
Reduced-price registration for scholarship recipients:
- $0 for virtual participation
- $25 for in-person participation at the main summit
- $25 add-on for Hill Day
- $25 add-on for the Organizing Institute
No one will be denied a scholarship due to inability to pay these reduced fees. This can be discussed as needed.
What we ask
The short form will ask you to share:
- A little about yourself and your interest in SRF
- Why you’d like to attend and what you hope to learn
- How you plan to bring what you learn back to your community
- The issues you’re passionate about (e.g. reproductive freedom, LGBTQ+ equality, inclusive public education, racial justice, democracy, and religious pluralism)
We also ask optional demographic questions to help AU understand who is applying. These do not affect funding decisions.
Special offer for students
Students with a “.edu” email address can attend virtual SRF for free by going directly to the registration page and using that email address to register.
This is part of our commitment to grow and support the next generation of supporters of church-state separation and inclusive religious freedom.
